Before you begin
After you install 10x GEO (also listed as LLM AI Search SEO or LLMs.txt Generator), your next goal is to complete Onboarding so your store is set up for AI discovery.
1) Complete onboarding
In the app, open Onboarding and continue from where you left off. Your progress is saved.
Read the Welcome overview, then complete Plan selection. If your plan includes a free trial, you won’t be charged until the trial ends.
Complete your Business profile (store name, industry, product types, target locations, and a short description). This helps 10x GEO tailor content ideas and on-site information for your store.
During Setup progress, the app prepares your core AI search setup. Depending on your plan and selections, it can:
- Generate your store’s LLMs.txt and publish it at
/.well-known/llms.txt - Start Prompt Watch visibility tracking (for platforms like ChatGPT, Claude, Perplexity, and Google Gemini)
- Prepare analytics so you can measure AI-driven traffic and landing pages
- (Optional) Generate starter FAQs for your Widget (editable later)
- Fetch top products/pages so you can prioritize optimization
2) Confirm your core setup is working
After onboarding, use these screens to verify everything is active and syncing:
- Confirm your LLMs.txt shows as generated/synced (when available in your Dashboard status)
- Look for high-level metrics related to AI discovery and referrals (if enabled for your plan)
Open Prompt Watch to review the prompts/topics being monitored and your visibility results by AI platform. This is where you’ll track whether your brand appears for the questions shoppers ask.
Open analytics (when available in your plan) to see which AI platforms send traffic and which pages visitors land on. Use this to decide what to optimize first.
3) Optional next steps (recommended)
Once the basics are in place, these features help you expand coverage and improve visibility over time:
- Content Plan — Build a structured publishing plan (for example, a multi-week or multi-month schedule) so you consistently answer shopper questions with helpful content.
- Content Sonic — Generate AI-optimized article ideas and drafts designed around real shopper intent, then publish to your Shopify blog (when enabled).
- Widget — Review and edit any generated FAQs and configure your on-site Widget so shoppers can find key information quickly.
Troubleshooting and support
If something doesn’t look right (for example, LLMs.txt not appearing as published or Prompt Watch not showing results yet), check the Troubleshoot section of these docs. You can also use the in-app help widget (when available) to search docs and contact support.
