# Comergent AI > Full documentation content for Comergent AI --- # Getting Started Get started with the Comergent AI application ## Getting Started ### First Step **URL:** https://docs.comergent.ai/first-step ## Before you begin After you install the **Comergent AI** (also listed as **LLM AI Search SEO** or **LLMs.txt Generator**), your next goal is to complete **Onboarding** so your store is set up for AI discovery. If you closed the app after installing, reopen it from **Shopify admin → Apps →** **Comergent AI**. ## 1) Complete onboarding In the app, open **Onboarding** and continue from where you left off. Your progress is saved. Read the **Welcome** overview, then complete **Plan selection**. If your plan includes a free trial, you won’t be charged until the trial ends. Plan options can include **Basic**, **Lite**, and **Pro**, depending on what’s currently available in the app. Complete your **Business profile** (store name, industry, product types, target locations, and a short description). This helps the **Comergent AI** tailor content ideas and on-site information for your store. During **Setup progress**, the app prepares your core AI search setup. Depending on your plan and selections, it can: - Generate your store’s **LLMs.txt** and publish it at `/.well-known/llms.txt` - Start **Prompt Watch** visibility tracking (for platforms like ChatGPT, Claude, Perplexity, and Google Gemini) - Prepare analytics so you can measure AI-driven traffic and landing pages - (Optional) Generate starter FAQs for your **Widget** (editable later) - Fetch top products/pages so you can prioritize optimization Keep your **Business profile** accurate. It improves the relevance of Prompt Watch topics, content ideas in **Content Plan**, and outputs generated in **Content Sonic**. ## 2) Confirm your core setup is working After onboarding, use these screens to verify everything is active and syncing: - Confirm your **LLMs.txt** shows as generated/synced (when available in your Dashboard status) - Look for high-level metrics related to AI discovery and referrals (if enabled for your plan) Open **Prompt Watch** to review the prompts/topics being monitored and your visibility results by AI platform. This is where you’ll track whether your brand appears for the questions shoppers ask. Open analytics (when available in your plan) to see which AI platforms send traffic and which pages visitors land on. Use this to decide what to optimize first. ## 3) Optional next steps (recommended) Once the basics are in place, these features help you expand coverage and improve visibility over time: - **Content Plan** — Build a structured publishing plan (for example, a multi-week or multi-month schedule) so you consistently answer shopper questions with helpful content. - **Content Sonic** — Generate AI-optimized article ideas and drafts designed around real shopper intent, then publish to your Shopify blog (when enabled). - **Widget** — Review and edit any generated FAQs and configure your on-site Widget so shoppers can find key information quickly. After changing key store details (like product focus, regions served, or brand positioning), revisit your **Business profile** so future prompts, content ideas, and FAQs stay aligned. ## Troubleshooting and support If something doesn’t look right (for example, LLMs.txt not appearing as published or Prompt Watch not showing results yet), check the **Troubleshoot** section of these docs. You can also use the in-app help widget (when available) to search docs and contact support. --- ### Introduction **URL:** https://docs.comergent.ai/introduction ## Welcome **The Comergent AI** (LLMs.txt Generator) helps Shopify stores get discovered when shoppers use AI assistants and AI-powered search experiences—like ChatGPT, Claude, Perplexity, and Google Gemini—to find products, compare options, and ask “where can I buy…”. ## What the **Comergent AI** helps you do - **Improve AI search visibility** by generating and maintaining your store’s **LLMs.txt** and guiding AI systems to the right pages. - **Monitor where you appear** across AI platforms to understand your store’s presence and progress over time. - **Create AI-optimised content** with tools like **Content Sonic** and **Content Plan** to publish helpful articles that align with shopper intent. - **Measure results** with analytics that connect visibility and content work to traffic and page performance. For best results, focus on a small set of high-intent product and collection pages first (the pages shoppers most often ask AI to recommend), then expand coverage with supporting blog content. ## Who this app is for - Shopify merchants who want more qualified traffic from AI-powered search - Stores that need content and visibility improvements without a large team or agency - Brands that want to be recommended when shoppers ask AI “best *[product]* for *[use case]* ” ## How these docs are organized Install the app, connect your Shopify store, and complete initial setup. Learn how LLMs.txt, Prompt Watch, Content Sonic, Content Plan, and the Widget work. Understand subscriptions, trials, plan limits, and upgrades. Fix common issues and verify your setup is working as expected. ## Key concepts (quick definitions) **LLMs.txt** is a file that helps AI systems understand what your site is about and which pages are most important—so your store is easier to cite and recommend in AI answers. **Prompt Watch** helps you track prompts and topics that matter to your shoppers and see whether your brand appears in AI responses for those queries. **Content Plan** helps you organize topics and publish consistently. **Content Sonic** helps you generate AI-optimized article ideas and drafts designed to match real shopper questions. The **Widget** is an on-site component that can surface helpful, AI-ready information to shoppers and support discovery and conversion workflows. These docs are also used by support and AI helpers to provide consistent answers. If you don’t find what you need, check the Troubleshoot section for the most common setup and visibility issues. --- ### Installation **URL:** https://docs.comergent.ai/installation ## Install from the Shopify App Store In your **Shopify admin**, go to **Apps**. You can also search for the app in the Shopify App Store. Search for the **Comergent AI** or **LLMs.txt Generator** (you may also see it listed as (**Comergent AI**). Click **Install app**. When prompted, review and approve the requested permissions. After installation, the app opens automatically and takes you to **Onboarding** to finish setup. If you close the browser tab during install, you can reopen the app anytime from **Shopify admin → Apps**. ## Permissions the app requests (and why) The **Comergent AI** requests access only to power the features described in these docs: - **Products and collections** — to generate and maintain your **LLMs.txt** using your catalog and key landing pages. - **Blogs and articles** — to publish AI-assisted content created in **Content Sonic** and organized in **Content Plan**. - **Storefront files** — to create or update the `.well-known/llms.txt` file on your storefront. - **Shop and theme** — to read store details and support optional on-site experiences like the **Widget**. You can revoke access at any time by uninstalling the app from **Shopify admin → Settings → Apps and sales channels**. ## After installation Once the app opens, complete **Onboarding** to get your core setup in place: - Generate and publish your first **LLMs.txt** - Set up **Prompt Watch** (visibility tracking) to monitor where your brand appears in AI answers - (Optional) Start creating content with **Content Sonic** and organizing it in **Content Plan** Your onboarding progress is saved. If you leave the app, you can return via **Shopify admin → Apps → Comergent AI**. ## Troubleshooting - Confirm you’re logged into the correct Shopify store and have permission to install apps. - Disable strict pop-up blockers for Shopify (some browsers/extensions can block the install redirect). - Try an incognito/private window to rule out extension issues. Re-run the installation and ensure you approve all requested permissions. You can review installed apps under **Shopify admin → Settings → Apps and sales channels**. In **Shopify admin**, go to **Apps** and look for the **Comergent AI**. Depending on the listing, it may appear as the **Comergent AI**. ## Next: first steps Learn what the **Comergent AI** does and the key concepts (LLMs.txt, Prompt Watch, Content Sonic, Content Plan, Widget). Continue setup after install (onboarding, generating LLMs.txt, and enabling visibility tracking). --- # Features Features of the Comergent AI application ## Features ### FAQs Generation **URL:** https://docs.comergent.ai/faqs-generation ## Overview **The Comergent AI** (also listed as the **Comergent AI**) can generate a starter set of FAQs for your store. These FAQs are designed to help shoppers get quick answers directly on your storefront via the **Widget**, and give you a clean starting point you can refine over time. ## What the app uses to generate FAQs FAQ generation is based on information you enter during **Onboarding**, especially your **Business profile**. This helps the app tailor questions and answers to your store. - **Industry** - **Product types** - **Target locations** - **Short store description** Keep your **Business profile** accurate and up to date. The app uses it to tailor outputs across the **Comergent AI** —especially content ideas and any generated FAQs. ## Where FAQs are generated ### During Onboarding (recommended) You can generate FAQs as part of your initial setup while completing **Onboarding**. In **Shopify admin**, go to **Apps** and open the **Comergent AI**. Open **Onboarding** and continue from where you left off (your progress is saved). Fill out your **Business profile** (industry, product types, target locations, and description). This is the primary input used for FAQ generation. In **Setup progress**, look for the optional task to **Generate starter FAQs for your Widget**. Complete that task to create your initial FAQ set. During **Setup progress**, the app may also generate and publish your **LLMs.txt**, start **Prompt Watch**, and prepare analytics—depending on your plan and selections. ## Where to review and edit FAQs After onboarding, manage your FAQs from the **Widget** area in the app. This is where you can review and edit any generated FAQs before (or after) they appear to shoppers. In the **Comergent AI**, open **Widget**. Find the FAQs that were created during onboarding and read through each question and answer for accuracy and tone. Update wording to match your brand voice, and make sure answers reflect your real shipping, returns, and service policies. If you change key store details (like product focus, regions served, or brand positioning), revisit your **Business profile** so future generated outputs—including FAQs—stay aligned. ## Tips for high-performing FAQs - **Keep answers short** so they’re easy to scan in the on-site **Widget**. - **Prioritize common questions** shoppers ask before purchase (shipping times, returns, sizing/fit, materials, warranty, and care instructions). - **Be specific** (include relevant locations, timelines, and exceptions when they apply to your business). Write FAQs the way customers ask them. For example, prefer “How long does shipping take?” over “Shipping policy”. This tends to match real shopper intent more closely. ## Related areas in the **Comergent AI** Complete Business profile and Setup progress tasks, including optional starter FAQ generation. Track whether your brand appears in AI answers for shopper prompts across multiple platforms. --- ### LLMS.txt **URL:** https://docs.comergent.ai/llms-txt ## What LLMs.txt is **LLMs.txt** is a single file that describes your store in a format AI systems can read and use. It helps AI assistants like **ChatGPT**, **Claude**, **Perplexity**, and **Google Gemini** understand your store’s products and content—so they can recommend and cite your store when people ask relevant shopping questions. The **Comergent AI** (also listed as the **Comergent AI**) generates and maintains this file for you. ## Where the file is published The **Comergent AI** publishes your file at the standard location on your store’s domain: ``` /.well-known/llms.txt ``` Example: ``` https://yourstore.com/.well-known/llms.txt ``` The **Comergent AI** writes this as a **storefront file**, which is why the app requests **Storefront files** access during installation. ## What the **Comergent AI** includes in your LLMs.txt Your LLMs.txt is generated from the store data and content the **Comergent AI** can access in Shopify. It’s designed to give AI systems structured, trustworthy information about what you sell and where to find it. - **Products** — titles, descriptions, and key details pulled from your catalog - **Collections** — collection names and what they contain - **Blog posts and pages** — so AI can cite your content when it answers shopper questions - **Policies** — such as shipping and refunds, when relevant to a query - **Store structure** — so AI understands how your store is organized Keeping your **Business profile** accurate during **Onboarding** helps the **Comergent AI** generate more relevant content outputs across the app (including LLMs.txt, Prompt Watch topics, and ideas in Content Plan/Content Sonic). ## How LLMs.txt is generated and updated The **Comergent AI** automatically generates and refreshes your LLMs.txt so it stays in sync with your store content. - **Initial publish** typically happens during **Onboarding** under **Setup progress**, where the app prepares your core AI search setup. - **Ongoing refresh** runs on a schedule so updates to products, collections, pages, and articles can be reflected in the file. Refresh frequency depends on your plan (for example, every **1**, **7**, or **30** days). The exact cadence available to you depends on your current plan options (such as **Basic**, **Lite**, and **Pro** when available). ## Check whether your LLMs.txt is live and in sync In **Shopify admin**, go to **Apps** and open the **Comergent AI.** Open **Dashboard** and look for the status that indicates your **LLMs.txt** is generated/synced (this appears in your Dashboard status when available). In a browser, open: ``` https://yourstore.com/.well-known/llms.txt ``` Replace `yourstore.com` with your store domain. If the URL works but the contents look outdated, rely on the app’s **Dashboard** sync status first—your storefront or browser may cache older versions for a short period. ## Why LLMs.txt matters for AI discovery When someone asks an AI assistant a shopping question (for example, “best *[product type]* for *[use case]* ” or “where can I buy *[item]* ”), the AI looks for clear, structured sources that describe what a store sells and which pages are most relevant. Your LLMs.txt gives AI systems a reliable map of: - what you sell, - how your catalog is organized, and - which content can be cited. This increases the chance your store is recommended and referenced instead of missed. ## If your LLMs.txt is missing or out of date - Open the **Comergent AI → Dashboard** and confirm your **LLMs.txt** shows as generated/synced (when available in your Dashboard status). - If you haven’t finished setup, return to **Onboarding** and complete **Setup progress** (this is where LLMs.txt publishing is prepared). - Make sure you’re testing the correct domain (the same domain shoppers use to access your store). - Check **Dashboard** for the most recent sync/generated status. - Confirm recent catalog/content changes are published in Shopify (for example, product descriptions or blog posts you expect to appear). - Wait for the next scheduled refresh based on your plan’s cadence. See the **Troubleshoot** section of these docs for common setup and sync issues. If available in your store, you can also use the in-app help widget to search docs and contact support. ## Related features LLMs.txt is one part of your AI discovery setup. Depending on your plan, you may also use: - **Prompt Watch** — visibility tracking across platforms like ChatGPT, Claude, Perplexity, and Google Gemini - **Analytics** — to understand AI-driven traffic and landing pages (when available) - **Content Plan** and **Content Sonic** — to create and organize content that answers shopper intent - **Widget** — to surface helpful information on-site (optional) --- ### Prompt Watch **URL:** https://docs.comergent.ai/prompt-watch ## What Prompt Watch does **Prompt Watch** helps you understand whether shoppers can discover your Shopify store through AI assistants and AI-powered search experiences. It checks prompts (realistic shopping questions) and shows whether your store appears in results for platforms like **ChatGPT**, **Claude**, **Perplexity**, and **Google Gemini**. Prompt Watch is part of your core setup during **Onboarding** under **Setup progress** (depending on your plan and selections). ## Where to find Prompt Watch In **Shopify admin**, go to **Apps** and open the **Comergent AI**. In the app navigation, select **Prompt Watch**. ## What you see in Prompt Watch - **Prompts** — the questions being tested (for example: “best *[product]* for *[use case]* ”). - **Visibility by platform** — whether you appear on each AI platform and your approximate position (for example, Position 1, 2, or 3 when available). - **Scores** — a simple visibility score so you can compare performance across platforms and track changes over time. - **Full AI responses** — open the captured response to see exactly how (or if) your store and products are mentioned. If your store shows up inconsistently across platforms, focus first on the prompts where you’re already close (for example, you appear but not in the top positions). Those are often the fastest wins. ## How Prompt Watch works (in plain terms) 1. The **Comergent AI** generates prompts based on your store information and niche (from your **Business profile** during **Onboarding**). 2. Those prompts are checked against each supported AI platform. 3. The app detects whether your store (or products) is mentioned and estimates your position in the answer. 4. Results are stored so you can review progress and trends over time. Prompt Watch is designed to track discovery and citations in AI answers. It’s not a traditional SEO rank tracker, and results can change as AI platforms update how they answer questions. ## Using Prompt Watch to improve visibility Open **Prompt Watch** and review which prompts show **no mention** versus **mentioned**. Use this as your baseline before you make changes to your content. Look for differences across **ChatGPT**, **Claude**, **Perplexity**, and **Google Gemini**. If you appear on one platform but not another, your next best step is usually improving your store’s content depth and clarity (not changing the prompt). Use the **Full AI responses** view to understand *why* you were mentioned (or missed). Pay attention to which pages, product types, or competitors are referenced. Use Prompt Watch insights alongside **Content Plan** and **Content Sonic** to create content that answers the same types of questions shoppers ask. ## Common reasons you don’t appear (and what to do) If AI platforms can’t reliably understand your store and key pages, your visibility can drop. - Confirm your file is available at `/.well-known/llms.txt`. - In the **Comergent AI**, check **Dashboard** for any **LLMs.txt** generated/synced status (when available). For full setup details, see **LLMS.txt** in the Features section. AI answers favor clear, detailed product and collection information. - Strengthen product descriptions (who it’s for, key specs, comparisons, and real use cases). - Create supporting blog content that matches high-intent shopping questions using **Content Plan** and **Content Sonic**. Some prompts (like “best [product]”) are extremely competitive and may be dominated by large brands or marketplaces. - Expand into more specific prompts (by use case, location, material, audience, or problem-to-solve). - Build a cluster of content around a niche where your store is uniquely credible. If your store focus changed (new product line, new regions served, repositioning), update your **Business profile** so Prompt Watch topics stay relevant. Visibility results can shift over time even if you don’t change anything—AI platforms frequently update how they source and summarize information. Use Prompt Watch trends, not single-day results, to judge progress. ## Related features Publish and maintain your LLMs.txt at `/.well-known/llms.txt` so AI systems can understand your store. Complete Onboarding and confirm Prompt Watch and your core setup are active. Overview of the **Comergent AI** concepts: LLMs.txt, Prompt Watch, Content Sonic, Content Plan, and Widget. --- ### Content Sonic & Content Plan **URL:** https://docs.comergent.ai/content-sonic-content-plan ## Overview: plan first, write second **Content Plan** and **Content Sonic** work together inside the **Comergent AI** to help you publish content that matches shopper intent and performs in AI-powered search experiences. - **Content Plan** helps you decide *what* to publish next with a structured, prioritized plan. - **Content Sonic** helps you turn an idea into a draft you can edit and publish to your **Shopify blog** (when enabled). ## Before you start For the best outputs, make sure your store context is complete. In the **Comergent AI**, go to **Onboarding** and confirm your **Business profile** is filled in (store description, industry/product types, target locations, and positioning). Keeping your **Business profile** accurate improves the relevance of content ideas in **Content Plan** and the drafts generated by **Content Sonic**. ## Content Plan: create a 90-day strategy **Content Plan** creates a **90-day content strategy** tailored to your store so you can prioritize the work that’s most likely to help. ### What you get in Content Plan - **Topic ideas** tailored to your products and niche - **Target keywords** and recommended **content types** (for example: guides, listicles, comparisons) - **Priority** and **expected impact** so you know what to do first - **Effort estimates** to help you plan time and resources ### Typical workflow In **Shopify admin**, go to **Apps →** the **Comergent AI**, then open **Content Plan**. Scan the list for items marked as higher **priority** and higher **expected impact**. These are usually your best starting points. Select a small batch of high-priority ideas to work on first so you can publish consistently and measure results sooner. Content Plan is meant to help you decide **what** to write before you open the editor. ## Content Sonic: generate and publish articles **Content Sonic** generates full article drafts from Content Plan ideas (or your own custom topics). Drafts are designed to be useful for readers and easier for AI systems to understand and cite. ### What you can do in Content Sonic - Choose a topic from **Content Plan** or enter a **custom idea** - Select a **content type** (for example: article, blog post, listicle, product comparison) - Generate a draft, then **edit in the app** - **Publish directly to your Shopify blog** (when enabled) ### Generate a draft from a plan item In **Shopify admin → Apps →** the **Comergent AI**, open **Content Sonic**. Pick a topic from your **Content Plan** so the draft aligns with your 90-day strategy and priorities. Select the format that fits the search intent (for example, a guide for “how to” questions or a comparison for decision-stage shoppers). Generate the draft, then review and edit it for accuracy (product details, shipping/returns, compliance claims, and brand voice) before publishing. When your store has blog publishing enabled, publish the final version to your **Shopify blog**. Always review AI-generated drafts before publishing—especially product claims, pricing, ingredients/materials, and any regulated statements. ## Tips for better results - **Start small:** publish 2–3 high-priority items from **Content Plan** first. - **Use specific briefs:** include details like audience, use case, and what to cover (for example: “Getting started guide for [product] with step-by-step setup and common mistakes”). - **Match content type to intent:** comparisons for “best vs” decisions, guides for “how to”, and listicles for browsing. ## Measure impact with Analytics After you publish, use **Analytics** (when available on your plan) to track whether your new posts are contributing to AI-driven traffic and which pages visitors land on. In the app’s **First Step** guidance, Analytics is described as the place to understand **which AI platforms send traffic** and **which pages visitors land on**. Use this to decide what to optimize next. ## If generation fails or looks off Go back to **Onboarding** and review your **Business profile**. Missing or outdated context can lead to off-topic ideas or drafts. If the output doesn’t reflect your products or collections, confirm the app has access to the store data it needs. (See the **Installation** page’s “Permissions the app requests (and why)” section for what’s used.) Use a more specific title and select a content type that matches the question you want to answer (guide vs. listicle vs. comparison). ## Billing and usage limits Plan features and limits can vary. For subscriptions, trials, and plan limits, see **Billing & Plans** in the docs. Finish Onboarding and confirm your store setup before generating content. Review trials, upgrades, and plan limits for Content Plan, Content Sonic, and Analytics. Fix common issues when drafts, analytics, or syncing don’t look right. --- # Billing & Plans Pricing of the application ## Billing & Plans ### Subscription **URL:** https://docs.comergent.ai/subscription ## Overview **The Comergent AI** (also listed as **LLM AI Search SEO** or **LLMs.txt Generator**) is billed through **Shopify’s subscription system**. Your plan determines which features are available and the usage limits for tools like **LLMs.txt**, **Prompt Watch**, **Content Plan**, **Content Sonic**, and the **Widget**. ## How billing works - You select a **plan** and (when available) a **billing cycle** (monthly or yearly). - Shopify creates a **recurring app charge** for your store. - You’re charged automatically at the start of each billing period until you cancel. Invoices and payment methods are managed in **Shopify admin**, not inside the **Comergent AI**. ### Where to view invoices in Shopify Depending on your Shopify version, you can find app billing in one of these locations: - **Settings → Billing** - **Apps →** the **Comergent AI → Billing** ## What’s included in your subscription What you can access (and how much you can use) depends on your current plan. You can review your plan details in the app under **Plans**. ### Common plan features and limits - **LLMs.txt** — generation and hosting at `/.well-known/llms.txt`, plus scheduled refreshes. - **Product coverage** — how many products can be included in your LLMs.txt output. - **Prompt Watch** — how many prompts you can track and which AI platforms are included (for example: **ChatGPT**, **Claude**, **Perplexity**, and **Google Gemini**). - **Content Sonic** — how many content generations you can run per billing period. - **Content Plan** — access to the **90-day content strategy** and prioritized topic ideas. - **Analytics** — data availability/retention (when Analytics is included in your plan). - **Widget** — access to on-site features and FAQ management (including starter FAQ generation during **Onboarding → Setup progress**). The exact features and limits you’ll see can vary by plan. Always rely on the **Plans** screen in the app and the Shopify confirmation at checkout for the final, current limits. ## Upgrade or downgrade your plan You can change your subscription from inside the app. In **Shopify admin**, go to **Apps** and open the **Comergent AI**. In the app navigation, select **Plans**. Select the plan you want, then confirm the change in the Shopify subscription approval screen. When you upgrade or downgrade, Shopify may apply **proration** (a charge or credit) depending on timing and the plan change. The Shopify confirmation screen shows the billing details before you approve. ### What happens when you hit a limit If you reach a plan limit (for example, Content Sonic generations or Prompt Watch prompt count), the **Comergent AI** may show an **upgrade banner** and guide you to **Plans** to increase your limits. ## Cancel your subscription Cancelling stops future billing and ends access after your current billing period. In **Shopify admin**, go to **Settings → Billing** (or **Apps →** the **Comergent AI**, depending on your Shopify version). Find the the **Comergent AI** app charge and follow Shopify’s steps to cancel the subscription. After your current billing period ends, app-dependent services stop running. This can affect scheduled updates like **LLMs.txt** refreshes and any plan-based functionality in **Prompt Watch**, **Content Sonic**, **Analytics**, and the **Widget**. ### What data remains after cancellation - Your existing store content (products, collections, pages, blog posts) remains in Shopify. - Any content you already published to your Shopify blog remains published. ## Where to check your current plan - **In** the **Comergent AI:** open **Plans** to see your active plan and available options. - **In Shopify:** check **Settings → Billing** (or **Apps**) to see the recurring charge and next billing date. ## Related docs See how the **Comergent AI** publishes your file at `/.well-known/llms.txt` and how refresh schedules work. Understand what Prompt Watch tracks across ChatGPT, Claude, Perplexity, and Google Gemini. Learn how plan-based limits affect content planning and article generation. Generate starter FAQs during **Onboarding → Setup progress** and manage them in **Widget**. --- ### Trials **URL:** https://docs.comergent.ai/trials Some of the **Comergent AI** plans (the **Comergent AI**) may include a **free trial** so you can try paid features before Shopify starts billing. ## How trials work - When you choose a plan during **Onboarding → Plan selection** (or from **Plans**), Shopify may show a trial period on the **subscription approval** screen. - During the trial, you get access to the features included in that plan (for example: **LLMs.txt**, **Prompt Watch**, **Content Plan**, **Content Sonic**, and **Widget** features that are part of your plan). - You’re **not charged** until the trial ends. After that, Shopify begins the recurring app charge for the billing cycle you approved (monthly or yearly, when available). - If you **cancel before the trial ends**, Shopify won’t charge you for the first billing period. Trials and billing are handled through **Shopify’s subscription system**. The Shopify approval screen is the source of truth for the exact trial length, start date, and when billing begins. ## Where to see whether a plan has a trial Trial availability can change depending on the current offer. To check what’s available for your store: In **Shopify admin**, go to **Apps** and open the **Comergent AI.** If you’re still setting up, go to **Onboarding** and open **Plan selection**. Plans that include a trial will indicate it in the plan choice and/or on the Shopify approval screen. In the app navigation, select **Plans** to review your current plan and available upgrades/downgrades. Trial details (when offered) appear as part of the change flow and the Shopify approval screen. Plan names can vary over time (for example, you may see options like **Basic**, **Lite**, and **Pro**). Always rely on the **Plans** screen and the Shopify confirmation screen for current options and terms. ## What happens during the trial - Use the app normally: complete **Onboarding → Setup progress**, confirm your **LLMs.txt** is live at `/.well-known/llms.txt`, and start tracking visibility in **Prompt Watch**. - If you reach a plan limit (for example, prompt count or Content Sonic generations), you’ll see the same limit messages and upgrade prompts as paying customers, and you’ll be guided to **Plans**. If you upgrade or downgrade during a trial, Shopify may change when you’re billed and/or apply proration depending on the plan change. Review the Shopify subscription approval screen carefully before you approve any change. ## What happens after the trial ends - Your **subscription starts** and Shopify charges you for the first billing period of the plan you approved. - Billing continues automatically each period until you cancel. ## Cancel before the trial ends To avoid being charged, cancel your app subscription before the trial end date. In **Shopify admin**, go to **Settings → Billing** (or, depending on your Shopify version, **Apps →** the **Comergent AI → Billing**). Find the **Comergent AI** recurring app charge and follow Shopify’s steps to cancel. For full details on billing, invoices, plan changes, and what happens when you cancel, see [Subscriptions](/subscriptions). ## Related docs How Shopify billing works, where to view invoices, how to upgrade/downgrade, and how to cancel. The Shopify approval screen shows the exact date billing begins. Your trial and billing details are shown in Shopify’s billing/subscription area (for example **Settings → Billing**). You can also review your plan inside the app under **Plans**. Yes. Your trial follows the same feature access and limits as the plan you selected. If you hit a limit, the app may show an upgrade banner and guide you to **Plans**. --- ### Plan Upgrade **URL:** https://docs.comergent.ai/plan-upgrade ## Overview You can upgrade your **Comergent AI** plan (the **Comergent AI**) at any time to increase limits and unlock features across **LLMs.txt**, **Prompt Watch**, **Content Plan**, **Content Sonic**, **Analytics**, and the **Widget**. Your upgrade is approved and billed through **Shopify’s subscription system**. The Shopify approval screen is the source of truth for the amount and billing timing. ## How to upgrade In **Shopify admin**, go to **Apps** and open the **Comergent AI**. In the app navigation, select **Plans**. (If you hit a limit, you may also see an **upgrade banner** that takes you to **Plans**.) Select the plan you want and, when available, the billing cycle (for example, **monthly** or **yearly**), then continue. You’ll be redirected to Shopify’s **subscription approval** screen. Review the price and billing details, then approve to confirm the upgrade. After approval, Shopify returns you to the **Comergent AI** and your new plan becomes active. ## What happens to billing - **Proration may apply**: Shopify can charge for the remainder of the current period at the new price and/or credit unused time on your previous plan (based on Shopify’s billing rules). - **Your next billing date may stay the same or adjust**: the Shopify approval screen shows what will happen for your change. To see the exact charge, next billing date, and invoices, open **Shopify admin → Settings → Billing** (or, in some Shopify versions, **Apps →** the **Comergent AI → Billing**). ## What you get after upgrading The exact limits and included features depend on the plan you choose. You can always confirm current numbers on the **Plans** screen. ### Higher limits - **LLMs.txt product coverage** — include more products in your LLMs.txt output. - **Prompt Watch** — track more prompts and (depending on the tier) access more AI platforms such as **ChatGPT**, **Claude**, **Perplexity**, and **Google Gemini**. - **Content Sonic** — run more content generations per billing period. ### Faster refresh schedules - **LLMs.txt refreshes** — higher tiers can include shorter refresh intervals so your published file stays more up to date. - **Prompt Watch checks** — higher tiers may check prompts more frequently and/or across more channels. ### More analytics history (when Analytics is included) - **Longer data retention** — higher tiers may keep more days of AI referrer and analytics history. ### Extra features on higher tiers - **Content Plan** — access to the **90-day content strategy** and prioritized topic ideas (when included). - **Widget** — additional on-site and FAQ capabilities (depending on plan). Your existing data (for example: prompts you track, generated content, FAQs, and Widget settings) remains in your store and in the app when you upgrade. ## Downgrading and cancelling If downgrades are available for your store, you can start the change from **Plans** and approve it in Shopify. - Your available limits and included features will follow the new plan. - If your current usage is above the new plan’s limits, parts of the app may be restricted until usage resets for the next billing period (based on how the plan is configured). Shopify may apply proration depending on timing and the type of change. Always review the Shopify approval screen before confirming. Cancelling stops future billing and ends access after your current billing period. To cancel, go to **Shopify admin → Settings → Billing** (or **Apps →** the **Comergent AI → Billing**, depending on your Shopify version) and cancel the **Comergent AI** recurring app charge. After your subscription ends, app-dependent services stop running. This can affect scheduled updates like **LLMs.txt** refreshes and plan-based functionality in **Prompt Watch**, **Content Sonic**, **Analytics**, and the **Widget**. ## Related docs How Shopify billing works for the **Comergent AI**, how to change plans, and how to cancel. The Comergent AI tracks visibility through **Prompt Watch**, where you can see whether your store is mentioned, how high you rank, and how your performance changes over time. ## What we measure in Prompt Watch - **Mention status** — whether your store (or products/pages) appear in the AI’s answer and/or citations. - **Position** — where you appear in the results (for example: 1st, 2nd, 3rd). Higher positions generally mean better visibility. - **Scores** — a simplified visibility score so you can compare prompts and platforms and track trends over time. Prompt Watch uses realistic “shopping-style” prompts (for example: *best [product] for [use case]*) to simulate how customers discover brands through AI. ## Where you’ll see visibility in the app ### Prompt Watch **Prompt Watch** is the primary place to view visibility. Each prompt shows results by AI platform (such as ChatGPT, Claude, Perplexity, and Google Gemini), including mention status, position, and saved answers/snippets when available. ### Dashboard Use **Dashboard** to spot high-level signals and setup status that can affect visibility—especially whether your **LLMs.txt** is generated and synced (when available). ### Analytics **Analytics** helps you connect visibility work to real outcomes by showing AI-driven traffic and what pages shoppers land on (when Analytics is included in your plan). ## How often visibility checks run Visibility checks in **Prompt Watch** run on a schedule. The exact frequency can depend on your plan and current system capacity. If your plan includes it, Prompt Watch may also allow you to refresh or re-check certain prompts from within the Prompt Watch experience. ## What affects visibility - **LLMs.txt quality and freshness** — If your **LLMs.txt** is missing, incorrect, or out of date, AI systems have less reliable store context to reference. The **Comergent AI** publishes your file at `/.well-known/llms.txt`. - **Your product and site content** — Clear product titles, detailed descriptions, and helpful articles make it easier for AI systems to recommend you. - **Competition and prompt breadth** — Broad, high-competition prompts are harder to win. More specific (long-tail) prompts often improve your chances. - **Platform differences** — Each AI platform behaves differently, so visibility can vary across ChatGPT vs Claude vs Perplexity vs Google Gemini. ## Improve your visibility (practical workflow) Open **Dashboard** and check your **LLMs.txt** status (when shown). Your store’s file should be accessible at `/.well-known/llms.txt`. Open **Prompt Watch** and identify prompts where your store is not mentioned, then compare them with prompts where you rank well. Use **Content Plan** to choose topics based on shopper intent, then use **Content Sonic** to generate drafts you can publish to your Shopify blog. After publishing updates, check **Analytics** (if included in your plan) to see which AI platforms send traffic and which pages they land on. Start by improving prompts where you’re already close (for example, you’re mentioned but ranked low). Small content and product-page improvements often move position faster than targeting brand-new, broad prompts. ## If your scores are low First, verify **LLMs.txt** is present and current. Then improve the on-site content that best answers the prompt (product pages, collection pages, and supporting blog posts). Finally, re-check performance in **Prompt Watch** after changes have been published. Focus on making your key pages more “AI-friendly”: clearer product naming, stronger differentiation, FAQs, and content that answers the prompt directly. Track position changes over time in **Prompt Watch**. This is normal. Use Prompt Watch’s per-platform results to decide where to focus first, then validate outcomes with **Analytics** when available. ## Related docs Track mention status, position, and scores across ChatGPT, Claude, Perplexity, and Google Gemini.
